Who ? Why?
Craving Ice cream ?
ALWAYS!!
As half Italian, half German I made it my passion to taste iceream all over the world.
I grew up with an Italian father who made gelato every day, so for me, ice cream was never just a treat – it was part of daily life. While other kids had cereal, we sometimes started the day with a scoop of pistachio.
Today, that childhood memory has turned into a true passion: I try as many ice cream shops as I can – in Paris, across Europe, and around the world. Whether it’s classic stracciatella or lavender-rosemary, I love discovering, comparing, and writing about new creations.
With this blog, I want to share my experiences, favorite finds, and honest reviews – always independent, with a smile on my face (and a spoon in hand).
I rate each flavor on a scale of 1 to 3 ice cream cones, with 3 cones representing the highest praise.
1 cone doesn’t mean “bad” – it simply means that others stood out more. I don’t publish negative reviews because my goal is not to criticize, but to celebrate quality, creativity, and craftsmanship.
In my reviews, I focus on:
The authenticity and quality of ingredients
The composition and originality of flavors
The artisanal execution of each creation
Having grown up in a family-run gelateria – where I not only tasted but also helped produce countless flavors – I bring both hands-on experience and a trained palate to every scoop I try.
What My Scores Mean
Here’s how I interpret the numbers in my rating system
3 – Absolute highlight
A perfect gelato. Outstanding texture, flawless flavor, top ingredients – simply perfect.2 – Exceptional
A memorable flavor, made with skill and high-quality products. A gelato worth going out of your way for.1 – Very good
Tastes good, but lacks excitement. The ingredients or flavor combinations are not particularly remarkable.
When I try several flavors at one location, I calculate the average score to reflect the overall experience.
