Gelateria italia - Posi Cosi
You don’t just walk by Gelateria Italia without noticing it.
The colors are what catch your eye first — soft pastels, bold signage, and a huge gelato counter that’s practically spilling out onto the street. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause mid-step, especially on a hot Aix-en-Provence afternoon.

I went for salted pistachio and yaourt — and it was the right call.
No flashy color, no artificial green. It’s lightly salted, just enough to sharpen the flavor, and refreshingly not sweet. The pistachio comes through strong — intense, earthy, almost roasted. The texture is smooth, rich and creamy.
The yaourt — fresh, clean, and slightly tangy. A perfect contrast.
The kind of flavor that doesn’t try to impress, but wins you over with its simplicity.
Only downside? No homemade waffle cone.
It’s one of those standard ones, the kind that disappears halfway through eating. Which feels like a missed opportunity, considering how well-crafted the gelato is.
Conclusion: 2,5 Cones
Gelateria Italia is a traditional Italian ice cream shop located in the center of Aix-en-Provence. It was founded by Cola Lucci who won the title of world champion of gelato in 2006.
The gelato is made fresh daily on-site, using high-quality ingredients such as Sicilian pistachios, Piedmont hazelnuts, and seasonal fruits. The recipes follow authentic Italian techniques with low sugar, no artificial flavors, and a focus on natural taste and texture.
